Anthony Pennachio, Pennachio is a Brooklyn native and studies at Mount St. Mary College in Newburgh. He was accused of sexually assaulting another student on the school campus.
The alleged incident took place last weekend in a freshman dorm suite. Police added that during the course of the investigation it was revealed that there could be more victims.
Mount St. Mary College, a small private Catholic college with about 3,000 students, has fully cooperated with the police department in its investigation, ABC News noted. Pennachio has pleaded “not guilty” and is free on bail.
“Our primary concern, as always, is the safety and well-being of our students, faculty, and staff. Violence and sexual assault are completely at odds with the values of Mount Saint Mary College, and will not be tolerated on this campus, ”says the statement issued by the institution.
