student accidentally vaccinated against Covid-19 and goes viral on Tik Tok

David MacMillan was walking in a supermarket when he was approached by a pharmacist. His story was quickly disseminated on social networks.

In the United States, it is possible to get vaccinated against Covid-19 by walking on the street. In any case, this is what happened to David MacMillan, who became a star on the Tik Tok social network in just a few hours, where his video has been viewed more than 700,000 times.

It must be said that the sequence is surprising. While this law student in Washington went to the supermarket to do his shopping, and he was absolutely not one of the audiences targeted by local health authorities, he found himself immune to the coronavirus, which makes devastation across the Atlantic.

“I was shopping for dinner when I walked past the pharmacy. The pharmacist called to my friend and me and said ‘I have two doses of the Moderna vaccine, do you want them?’ I said ‘yes, I don’t know how it’s possible, but yes I would like to do it,’ he recalls to BFMTV.

“We must be happy”

In reality, this vaccination is the result of a simple combination of circumstances. People who needed to be injected ultimately did not show up, and healthcare professionals did not want to lose the vaccine, which only survives for a few hours at room temperature. David MacMillan and his friend were thus selected by pure coincidence so as not to waste doses.

The young man is however delighted with the repercussions of his video, he who claims to have suffered slightly in his arm a few hours after the injection.

“Unfortunately there are so many people who are skeptical about vaccines, so many people are suspicious of this vaccine or are worried about what might be in it. I was happy to receive it and wanted to share. this enthusiasm so that as many people as possible say ‘yes, this is something to be happy about’, he added, still on BFMTV.

David MacMillan will need a second injection later this month.
