The scene that caused an uproar among residents in Pematangsiantar on Monday (30/8) yesterday over the terror of a backpack with the words “Beware of the Bomb” on Tuesday (31/8) was revealed by the Pematangsiantar Police Criminal Investigation Unit.
The Pematangsiantar Police Criminal Investigation Unit led by the Head of Criminal Investigation Unit AKP Edi Sukamto, SH, MH secured the alleged owner of a bag that read “CAUTION ADA BOM” which was placed on Jalan Gunung Simanuk – Manuk, Teladan Village, West Siantar District, Pematangsiantar City, precisely at the intersection of Jalan MH .Sitorus direction Pematangsiantar Animal Park.
Police have arrested Reno Rianda, SE (40) who lives on Jalan Nusa Indah, Pematangsiantar.
The man was arrested on Tuesday, August 13, 2021, at around 11.00 WIB on Jalan Silimakuta, Timbang Galung Village, West Siantar District, Pematangsiantar City.
It is not yet known for sure what the motive for the perpetrators was to make the backpack filled with stones and bearing the bomb. Now the police are still investigating.

Pematangsiantar Police Chief AKBP Boy Sutan Binanga Siregar SIK through the Criminal Investigation Unit AKP Edi Sukamto confirmed the arrest of the perpetrator.
Previously, a backpack with the words ‘Beware of Bombs’ was found at the intersection of Jalan MH Sitorus and Jalan Gunung Simanuk-manuk, Teladan Village, West Siantar District, turned out to contain a boulder. The bag was attached to an iron pole, Monday (30/8) at 11.20 WIB.
Pematangsiantar Police Chief AKBP Boy Sutan Binaga Siregar SIK went directly to the location. Also participating were Head of East Coast Military Command 022, Major Inf Ali Siregar, Head of Intelkam, Head of Criminal Investigation Unit, Head of Traffic, Head of West Siantar Police, and Pematangsiantar Police personnel.
Pematangsiantar Police personnel immediately installed a police line according to operational standards to secure the backpack.
The Siantar Police immediately coordinated with the Gegana Jibom Team of the North Sumatra Police Mobile Brigade.
At around 14.00 WIB, the Gegana BOM Technician Team of the North Sumatra Brimobda Sat arrived at the scene, led by Danden Gegana Kompol Hendry and Wadanyon B AKP D Pelawi. They immediately evacuated the bag. After opening it, it turned out that the bag contained a stone that was used to demolish the ceramic floor of the house.(vay)
