Mulyadi is a car driver who carries bread. He brought the bread from the South Jakarta area to Lotte Cibitung, Bekasi Regency.

“From Radio Dalam, I wanted to go to Lotte Cibitung. From 09.30 WIB there was traffic jam,” said Mulyadi to detikcom on Jalan Sumatra, MM 2100 industrial area, Cikarang, West Java, Thursday (30/11/2023).

Already more than 3 hours,” he said

“Yeah, I’m definitely annoyed. What’s the end?. “Who are we going to upset?” he complained.

However, he said that the demonstration was everyone’s right to vote. However, he said, road access in industrial areas should remain open.

“Yeah Already It’s normal, they also have voting rights too. We can’t ban too. Yes, if you can, you should give us a way too. “The thing is, we are workers too,” he continued.

Another resident, Yanto (23), who is a car driver carrying spare parts, admitted that he felt the same as Mulyadi. He has been stuck in traffic since 09.00 WIB.

“From West Karawang. From 9 o’clock trapped stuck until now. Want to go to ADM Spareparts next to Cibitung. “At least another 2 km,” said Yanto.

Yanto said that the traffic jam had an impact on goods spare parts. When it rains, he said, the items will be damaged

“Yes, it could possibly be damaged by rain. If it leaks, there will be holes this is it. The company complained about the goods. I’ve had complaints before, and the item continues reversed more stuff,” he added.

Apart from that, Yanto admitted that he experienced a loss of time, which affected his income. “It’s more of a loss of time, because I do it on a contract basis. If the money runs out, that’s fine, I won’t give it any more. It’s a loss if it’s a contract system,” he said.

Yanto further added that there are no other alternative routes to avoid traffic jams. He was forced to pass through the MM2100 industrial area even though he already knew there was a demonstration in the area.

“Yes, there is a possibility that there will be information and there will also be demonstrations. But still go this way. If you go by the side you can, but still aja traffic jam due to motorbikes. Better this way. There is no other alternative,” he concluded.

It is known that the mass action of workers demanded an increase in the provincial minimum wage (UMP) by 15 percent. However, this action resulted in traffic jams on the Jakarta-Cikampek toll road, starting from the East to West Bekasi toll exit.
