Indonesia will implement a toll payment system without a stop or called Multi Lane Free Flow (MLFF). It was revealed that the contactless toll payment system will be implemented starting in December 2022.
This was conveyed by the Head of Operation and Maintenance I of BPJT Galuh Permana Waluyo. He said the target for MLFF is to be implemented in December 2022.
According to him, BPJT hopes that the implementation of paying toll roads without stopping is implemented in its entirety by September 2023.
“The steps leading to the implementation of MLFF are carried out in several stages, we will not immediately open all toll gates, but we try to continue to use existing toll gates to be used as free flow transactions or what we call Single Lane Free Flow (SLFF) for the piloting stage. later,” he was quoted as saying Between.
The plan is for the toll-free toll transaction system to be implemented in stages. The implementation of the MLFF system will begin in toll roads around the Jabodetabek area.
“Regarding how many toll roads will be implemented, perhaps we are still carrying out exercises, only there are some criteria that we will apply later but of course taking into account several things. Possibly in the early stages we will try to do the closest to the criteria around Jabodetabek , said Galuh.
“We want toll users around the area where the contactless toll transaction system will be applied, so that the risk of violations will be smaller,” he said.
Galuh revealed, the application for toll transactions without a stop will be launched in July 2022. Currently, BPJT is still preparing it.
“We are targeting that the application (MLFF) will be ready to be launched to the public in July 2022. Of course this requires quite massive socialization,” he said.
The MLFF pilot project will start in the third quarter of 2022. By December 2022, it is hoped that the toll payment system will be implemented without stopping gradually.
“Maybe we won’t implement all of the toll gates first,” said Galuh.
