Vladimír Obšil, a longtime member of the Slovak National Theatre, died at the age of just sixty-five. According to the Blesk website, he struggled with an insidious disease for a long time, which complicated his life.
Vladimír Obšil struggled with Parkinson’s disease for many years. Even so, he still played in the Slovak National Theatre, of which he was a long-time member.
According to Flash Obšil died at the age of only sixty-five. He spoke openly about Parkinson’s disease, it was reflected in his personal and professional life.
Actor of minor roles
His death was reported on Facebook also the Slovak Theater Institute Bratislava. “It is with sadness that we received the news of the death of the actor Vladimír Obšil, who left us forever on Thursday, March 30, 2023, at the age of 65. Honor his memory,” he wrote
The actor was born in Prachatice in the Czech Republic, later he went to Bratislava, where he studied at the Academy of Performing Arts. “His dynamic acting with a sense of decent caricature, as well as suggestive portrayals of characters characterized by their sincerity and belief in goodness, have enriched the productions of our first theater stage for over forty years,” it is further stated in a post on the social networks of the Theater Institute.
The actor played, for example, in the films Red Captain, Long, Wide, Sharp-Eyed, The Ballad of Dead Eyes, Dangerous Acquaintances or Nebojsa from 1981. He mostly played minor roles.
