Wald-Michelbach (now). Association league team Eintracht Wald-Michelbach starts the football year this Saturday from 2.30 p.m. at 1. FCA Darmstadt. Coach Ralf Ripperger’s team has to play catch-up against an opponent who is difficult to assess. Darmstadt recently outclassed Seligenstadt, third in the table, 4-0 in a friendly match. “The FCA seems to be well positioned,” says ETW press spokesman Lothar Strusch, whose team was also able to set an exclamation mark in preparation – 7-0 against top division club SV Fürth.

Eintracht is currently in a state of upheaval for financial reasons. Sponsorship money has dried up, teams and coaches are working without pay. “The players were free to decide whether to quit with us or not,” says Strusch. But there seems to be a lot of cohesion in the team. “The team works well together,” praises ETW sports director Amir Imsirovic. Only Patrik Babic and Feta Suljic left the club during the winter break.
