Write from the heart. That is the principle adhered to by one of the IDN Times Community Writers, Mutiara Ananda. He emphasized that when he wrote his work wholeheartedly, he would feel satisfied because he could bring the writing to life.

This principle also led Mutiara Ananda to win a number of writing competitions held by the IDN Times Community. Even before joining this platform, he admitted that he didn’t have one basic write at all. 1. Science was Mutiara’s topic of choice when she first joined the IDN Times Community

Mutiara discovered IDN Times Community at the end of 2020 through Quora. After that, he tried to send his works. Like other novice writers on this platform, Mutiara’s path is certainly not easy. One by one the submitted articles go to the Pending page. Even the first five articles ended up not being published.

This writer from Bogor then realized that there were still shortcomings in his article. After looking at the Writing Guide and reviewing other Community Writers articles, he decided to send the sixth article, namely “10 Highest Mountains in the Solar System, the Most Mars”. The article was successfully published and paved the way for Mutiara in the IDN Times Community.

As a new writer, Mutiara has a clear vision, you know. He knows the topics he likes so he feels more enjoy while writing. At that time, the woman who was also known as Muti focused on writing about science-related matters, especially astronomy.

“At that time (until now) I really enjoyed things related to science, especially astronomy. So, I tried to write fun fact about astronomy and finally publish,” he said when interviewed by IDN Times via electronic mail.

3. His competitive spirit and ambition to win in writing competitions actually made him feel down

Almost a year after Mutiara joined the IDN Times Community, she started looking at writing competitions which were often held together brand. This woman, whose full name is Mutiara Ananda Hidayat, was tempted by her promising prizes, ranging from cash to… gadget.

The first writing competition that Mutiara participated in was IDN Times x Garnier with hashtag #GreenBeauty in 2021. However, Mutiara’s ambition did not produce sweet results at that time. He did not manage to win and had time down therefore.

“I failed the Green Beauty competition and that was enough for me down because my orientation at the start was to win and be sure of winning,” he said.

It is recorded that to date, he has succeeded in winning the following competitions:

When asked about her income while joining the IDN Times Community, Mutiara revealed that she managed to pocket tens of millions of rupiah. Mainly, thanks to prizes from writing competitions.

5. The secret to winning Mutiara Ananda’s writing competition

When asked what her secret was in winning writing competitions, Mutiara said she had several tips that could be useful for other writers. Some of them are:

Make sure you have read the Writing Guidelines and competition conditions carefully, such as hashtag and keyword. Research related topics and create outline so you know where you want to take the article. Understand technique copywriting and apply it in the article accordingly angle which is taken. Use fun language and relatable for readers.

Mutiara then explained that from the tips above, the main key that she always holds is write with your heart and understand the technique copywriting which is good and true. “Believe me, once you get these two things, the other components will follow as you write,” he explained.

What is meant by write with your heart Here we have to involve our hearts in the process of creating work. Make sure we really “enter” the writing so that all the emotions expressed can be felt.
