RUNNERS Aprilia Racing, Aleix Espargarò he expressed his frustration with Franco Morbidelli (Monster Energy Yamaha). The reason, he almost crashed on the last lap MotoGP Malaysia 2022 when involved in a fight with Morbidelli.

The race took place on the Sepang circuit on Sunday 23 October 2022. Aleix Espargaro himself had to be content with finishing in 10th place and the chance to win the 2022 MotoGP world title was closed.

Despite being able to finish the race, Aleix Espargaro admitted being annoyed by Franco Morbidelli. The two riders had time to compete with each other in speed to fight for the tenth position.

Franco Morbidelli, however, crashed into Aleix Espargaro’s bike, forcing him to pull the brake lever to slow the RS-GP so it wouldn’t crash. Franco Morbidelli also successfully overtook Aleix Espargaro and finished 10th, while Espargaro was 11th.

Due to a dangerous act by Franco Morbidelli, the Race Direction imposed a three-second penalty and sent him down to 11th place, while Espargaro climbed back to 10th after taking advantage of his opponent.

After the race, Aleix Espargaro admitted he was confused with Franco Morbidelli in the 2022 MotoGP. He also said that Fabio Quartararo’s teammate was from another planet.

“I don’t know what this guy (Franco Morbidelli) is doing this year. I don’t know if he’s from another planet,” he said. Aleix Espargarò reported by Paddock GP, Monday (24/10/2022).

Aleix Espargaro thinks that Franco Morbidelli always does stupid things and almost takes a penalty every race. He explained that he had been hit three times by Franco Morbidelli, previously in Thailand he had been hit twice.

“He gets a penalty almost every race, but he keeps doing stupid things. He hit me twice in Thailand, once again very hard today (Malaysian MotoGP 2022). I don’t know how we didn’t crash,” he explained.

The 33-year-old driver admitted to having the advantage of being in 10th position due to the penalty of Franco Morbidelli. However, Aleix Espargaro wants the 27-year-old rider to receive a more severe punishment at the 2022 Valencia MotoGP.

“He took a three-second penalty, which is good for me because it gives me a point. But he has to start last or from the pit lane.”
