As expected, the Major League Soccer (MLS) season got off to a difficult start for coach Gerhard Struber and the New York Red Bulls.
At the MLS record champion Los Angeles Galaxy, the “cops” conceded their second defeat in their second game on Sunday (local time). Thanks to three goals from Galaxy star striker Chicharito (9th, 41st, 60th), the Californians won 3-2. Styrian Daniel Royer came on as a substitute for New York in the 61st minute.
Chicharito had not been able to meet the high expectations as the successor to Zlatan Ibrahimovic in Los Angeles last year, the Mexican is currently leading the league with five goals in two games. Both games ended in victory for Galaxy.
