Trial against the family driver of the former Head of Propam Polri Ferdy Sambo, Strong Ma’rufin the premeditated murder case of Brigadier Joshua Hutabarat held this week. Strong Ma’ruf hopes to be acquitted by the public prosecutor.
“The hope is that he will be acquitted because from the facts of the trial there is not a single piece of evidence that points to the involvement of Strong Ma’ruf in the shooting of Yosua in Duren Tiga, as the contents of the prosecutor’s indictment,” said Strong Ma’ruf’s lawyer, Irwan Irawan, to journalists, Sunday ( 15/1/2023).
According to Irwan, from the two main locations related to the murder of Yosua Hutabarat, his client had no communication with Ferdy Sambo regarding the subject matter of the case.
“There are two locations that are suspected of having planned the murder (Article 340), Magelang and Saguling. At these two locations, Strong Ma’ruf never communicated with Ferdy Sambo at all,” said Irwan.
Not only that, Irwan believes that Strong Ma’ruf was not involved in Yosua’s execution at the Duren Tiga official residence. So, Strong Ma’ruf’s party hopes to be acquitted.
“For Article 338 Strong, Ma’ruf was not involved at all because the one who shot and killed Yosua was Richard,” he added.
It is known that the trial of Strong Ma’ruf’s charges in the premeditated murder case against Brigadier Yosua Hutabarat was held this week. The prosecution trial was held after Strong finished being examined as a defendant.
“Then it will be the public prosecutor’s turn to file charges. We will give them the next week,” said the chairman of the panel of judges, Wahyu Iman Santoso, during a trial in the murder case of Brigadier Yosua Hutabarat at the South Jakarta District Court, Monday (9/1).
The judge then ordered Strong to return to the holding cell. The trial was closed and will be held again on Monday (16/1) next week with an agenda for demands from the public prosecutor.
In this case, Strong Ma’ruf was charged with being involved in the premeditated murder of Brigadier Yosua. It is strong that Ma’ruf is called by the prosecutor to be involved in the premeditated murder of Yosua.
Strong Ma’ruf was charged together with Ferdy Sambo, Bripka Ricky Rizal, Bharada Eliezer, and Putri Candrawathi, for violating Article 340 of the Criminal Code subsidiary Article 338 of the Criminal Code juncto Article 55 paragraph 1 1st of the Criminal Code.
