Strong Wind Rips Away Roofing of House in Suriname

A large part of the roof covering of a house on Auguststraat in Suriname was ripped away on Saturday afternoon by strong winds accompanied by a thunderstorm.

The roof covering has ended up on the fence of the house. The damage is enormous.

As far as is known, no one was injured. The householders turned to the authorities for help.

The Meteorological Service Suriname had already reported yesterday that today in the afternoon and early evening local periods with light to moderate showers can sometimes occur with isolated thunderstorms. There is a small chance of a short-lived heavy shower.
