Strong wind in 16 districts on Monday, snow in northeastern Bulgaria

A cold front will pass through the country on Monday. The clouds will increase and over most areas it will be mostly significant.

In some places it will rain in Northeastern Bulgaria, the Fore-Balkans and in the mountains – light snow, and in the plains – light rain.

Yellow code has been announced in 16 districts for strong winds in Northern, Central Bulgaria and Sofia region, and in 4 districts of Northeastern Bulgaria there will be snowfall.

In these areas the northwest wind will intensify and in many areas it will be between 14 and 19 m / s, during the day with gusts up to about 24 m / s. There will also be snowstorms in the areas with snowfalls, BNR reported.

In the afternoon from the west the precipitation will stop and the clouds will break. A moderate, temporarily strong wind from the northwest will blow in the Danube plain and the Upper Thracian lowland and cold air will blow with it. In Ludogorie there are conditions for snowstorms.

The prevailing minimum temperatures will be between minus 2-3 degrees, and the maximum – between 3 and 8 degrees.

In Sofia the maximum temperature will be around 3 degrees, on the Black Sea coast 6 – 7, in Southern Bulgaria 8 degrees.

It will be colder on Tuesday, it will not rain, and the temperatures will be between 0 and 4 degrees, in Sofia minus 1 degree.
