The main thoroughfare between Nordfjord and Sunnfjord is closed at both Egge and Klakegg. It has our big queue in town.
The reason is several traffic accidents as a result of bad weather conditions in the city.
– There has been a landslide on the other side of the river which has caused a lorry and a car to blow off the road, says duty fire officer in Gloppen fire and rescue, Roar Flølo.
A geologist is in town and has assessed the habitat on the mountain side.
– Due to the weather conditions, the police will wait to open the road until the train has been salvaged, says Morten Frantzen at 110 west.
Bilbergar has been in the city and salvaged the train and the road is now open for traffic, reports the road traffic center.
It should be very slippery in the city, the contractor has sprinkled salt on the stretch but it is assumed that it will take some time before the grip takes over.
First informed about landslides
It was first stated that the lorry could be covered by an avalanche, and that two cars had collided in connection with this.
This turns out not to be the case.
– There will be more traffic accidents on the stretch. Very bad weather has been reported there now, strong winds and snowstorms, Tom Erik Englaugstad at Vegtrafikksentralen was able to confirm after the report.
The police state that no injuries have been reported, and that they have worked to empty the valley of cars. There will be a lot of snow in the area, and it will be difficult for the patrol to get a full overview.
