Strong smoke development from a boat in Asker

At 10.30 pm on Saturday night, the emergency services responded to a fire in a boat that was at the quay at Sætre pier in Asker.

Fireboats, fire engines, lifeboats and police helicopters assisted in the firefighting.

– The burning boat has been pulled out into the harbor basin in Sætre. The boat is burning heavily, the police announced on Twitter at 21.41 on Saturday night.

Unknown cause

At 10.30 pm, TV 2 will be informed by the 110 exchange that the fire has been extinguished and that the fire service is now extinguishing it.

– We do not know the cause of the fire, we have not received information about it, says duty commander Rune Elstad at the 110 exchange.

The boat has been pulled out towards Rauholmene and is far from other boats now, according to the police.

No one injured

The police state that they have been in contact with the boat owner, who was on land when the fire broke out.

They have not received information that there were people on board when the fire started.

Shortly after the police reported the incident, they reported that an ambulance was on the land side and contacted those who might need health supervision.
