The National Development Bank (BNF) registered strong expansions in its loan and deposit portfolios as of November 2020, according to the statistics recently released by the Central Bank of Paraguay (BCP), through its most recent report on Financial Indicators.

With regard to loans, the expansion of the total portfolio in the state bank was almost 40% in November 2020 (compared to the same month of 2019), while in the total portfolio of deposits the increase reached 52%. If deposits in guaraníes are considered, the expansion was 50%, while in foreign currency the positive variation is 45%.
In both portfolios (deposits and loans) within the Development there are dynamics much higher than that of the banking system. It is worth remembering that total bank loans grew at a 6% year-on-year rate in the penultimate month of 2020, while deposits grew by almost 20%.
FINANCING. On the other hand, data from the Development Bank show that loans granted through special lines to respond to the health emergency reached 6,867 clients in 2020, for a total of G. 1.1 trillion, which is equivalent to USD 165 millions.
