Several police vehicles and buses were laid out in the streets around the building that serves as the residence for Donald Trump, his wife Melania and his son Baron, in Manhattan.
At a press conference on Tuesday, the New York police chief assured that his agents would be ready to respond to any incident but that there was no credible threat.
However, he said that the police force in the megalopolis would remain strengthened beyond Tuesday, polling day. “In the coming days, there will be additional police officers who will be available to respond to any form of incident.”
The New York Post also reported that some Manhattan businesses had their storefronts covered, anticipating the possibility of possible overflows.
