A magnitude 4.2 earthquake struck last night at 10:15 pm local time near Marmaris, Mugla County, Turkey, the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Center (EMSC) said.
According to preliminary data, the quake was located at a moderately shallow depth of 54 km.
The National Observatory of Athens (NOA) also confirmed that the magnitude 4.2 earthquake.
The Ankara’s Directorate for Emergency Situations and Disaster Management (AFAD) and Istanbul’s Kandilli Observatory have declared the magnitude of the quake 3.9 on the Richter scale.
There are reports that some settlements in Turkey and Greece near the epicenter were shaken by the quake.
Among them are Marmaris 11 km, Dalaman 47 km, Yatagan (population 19,000) 66 km, Fethiye 74 km and Rhodes 36 km.
There are no reports of casualties, injuries or serious property damage.
