People took to the streets because of the earthquake
Strong earthquake in central Italy. According to the initial data of the European Seismological Center, the earthquake had a magnitude of 5 on the Richter scale. The Italian authorities set its strength at 4.4, writes Reuters.
The epicenter was in the town of Umbertide, northeast of Perugia. Buildings, including schools and hospitals, are being checked for damage.
“People took to the streets because of the earthquake,” Umbertide Mayor Luca Carizia told the Italian news agency ANSA.
