The scandal erupted this past weekend when nude photos of Evenie Rose Thafaina Saint Louis, of stage singer Tafa Mi-Soleil, were unauthorizedly shared on Telegram, a popular messaging app, before spreading on social networks. This situation could have plunged anyone into deep distress, but the singer chose to fight.
Throughout the day after the images were made public, Tafa even continued to promote his Sunday evening concert planned at the Caribbean Cultural Center in Port-au-Prince. When the time came, the young star offered a performance worthy of his talents to his fans.
“Yo pa ka tenyen solèy (We cannot extinguish the fire of the sun, in French)”, it is with these words that the author of Phoenix reacted on his social networks after the concert. Many Internet users have shown their solidarity with the singer who, obviously, refuses to let herself be defeated.

Furthermore, journalist Carel Pèdre also wants to take the demands a little further. The host therefore launched an appeal to Telegram to ask how to limit the damage caused by the distribution of intimate photos of people targeted by cybercriminal acts.
“Cher @telegram, I am concerned about the misuse of Telegram channels for revenge porn in the Haitian community. We need your help to solve this problem and protect individuals like @SoleilTafa, who is the latest victim. What steps can we take to stop this?” he tweeted.
