Even though Stromae sees it big: he no longer wants to fall into the same trap as on his previous tour (that of a crowded agenda, ed.). When asked what he learned from that “Racine carrée” period, and what he wants to do differently now, his answer is clear.
“I now set my limits: there are certain rules and my entourage takes good care of me. Everything revolves around making choices,” it sounds. At the press conference surrounding Stromae’s new album, the rules are also very clear: no smartphones, no photos, no sound recordings. The singer explicitly thanks those present “to play the game” (to play the game, ed.)
“My position is different from my second album. I can demand things, even if I don’t feel completely comfortable with that,” he admits. “But I consciously put the brakes on, because I never want to be so exhausted again. I want to save energy for my family. So on days without concerts I just work from 9 am to 5 pm, despite my profession. My goal is to have a lead a balanced life.”
