About 150,000 Italians suffer from stroke every year. Compared to the past, today many more lives are saved thanks to prompt treatment in the acute phase of the disease, possible if you call 112/118 immediately when you feel the symptoms. Half of the survivors, however, have to deal with or with minor outcomes, which still can compromise autonomy or, in most cases, with severe disability, including paresis of the upper and lower limbs of one side of the body, neurocognitive disorders, loss of words and / or the ability to understand them, problems with incontinence, impaired vision.
