Strive will be released in April 2021 • Gamingnation

Guilty Gear: Strive, the seventh installment in the well-known Japanese fighting game series, will be released on April 9, 2021. Developer Arc System Works announced that with a brand new trailer full of anime combat and lots of metal.

The game was initially planned for release this year, but was postponed to 2021. The extra time that Arc System Works gained with this has been used to develop a next-gen version. Unfortunately, we don’t see any real next-gen images in the trailer, but some characters are shown that will be in the roster. So you see the new character Giovanna and old acquaintance Anji.

Fifteen characters will be available upon release to compete against each other. Five more characters will be added with the season pass at a later date, but many more characters are expected to come to the game. Predecessor Guilty Gear Xrd – Revelator had no less than 25 characters, after the game got DLC and a completely new release.

The Guilty Gear games are known for their deep and technical gameplay, which requires quite a bit of practice from players. Characters all have totally unique movesets and combos, requiring just about perfect inputs from players. With Guilty Gear: Strive, Arc System Works wants to try to make the series a bit more accessible to newcomers.

Guilty Gear: Strive will be released April 9, 2021 for PS4, PS5 and PC. Would you like to know what to expect from Strive? Then check this trailer.
