Striker ‘will reassess Chelsea’s future’ if Tuchel continues current slight – EzAnime.net

One report claims that forward Timo Werner will take a hard look at his future if he cannot return to Chelsea’s first team.

The 25-year-old is in his second season at Stamford Bridge after a big money move from RB Leipzig last summer. The Blues paid out £ 47.5 million for the German international who signed a five-year deal with West Londoners. Much was expected of Werner after his exploits with Die Roten Bullen.

The Stuttgart-born ace scored 95 goals in 159 appearances in all competitions. He has scored 78 times in 127 Bundesliga games, but has struggled in the Premier League.

International 45 times with Germany, he has continued to find the net for his selection. The former Stuttgart has scored 19 times for Die Mannschaft, including three in the international break in September.

But, after receiving 29 top flight starts for Chelsea during 2020-2021, he now appears to be in the pecking order. Thomas Tuchel has given him the go-ahead just twice in the league this season, with three starts off the bench.

The arrival of Romelu Lukaku it has not helped things. The Belgian ace has played every minute of the five league games he has started, scoring three goals.

Now in his second spell at the club, the former Manchester United ace appears to have made a smooth transition back to Bridge. Werner he will have to impress Tuchel in the limited opportunities he is given if he is to force his way back into favor.

The Telegraph reports that he will “reassess his future at Chelsea” if he is still on the bench mid-season.

Tuchel trusts Werner’s progression

Despite not scoring the expected volume of goals during his first Blues season, Werner found the net 12 times. He also attended eight in the Premier League and two in the Champions League.

But in May, he explained to The Telegraph that he understood why there has been criticism of his return.

“I think a lot of people’s expectations of me, outside the club but also within the club, were very high because of my scoring record,” he said.

“I also attended a lot of goals last year at my old club but I think the main reason they brought me here at the club is to score and maybe in the end 12 goals and six goals in the Premier League, that’s not enough. «

Werner has been associated with both Bayern Munich and Juventus. But, following the recent 3-0 win over Tottenham, Tuchel revealed that his two main forwards could work together.

“Timo can play with Romelu, he did very well at Tottenham,” he said. “That gave us a clear impression of how dangerous these two can be together as well.”
