Strike in childcare centers this Monday and Friday

Childcare workers affiliated with the Federation of Early Childhood Workers of Quebec (FIPEQ-CSQ) will be on strike on the 1is and November 5.

In Chaudière-Appalaches, 14 daycare centers with 27 facilities will not offer any childcare services during these two days.

Here is the list of CPEs on strike in Beauce / Bellechasse / Etchemins:

At the Palace of Wonders (Saint-Georges)

Boutons d’Or (Saint-Georges, Saint-Gédéon, Saint-Ludger)

Panta-Mousse (Saint-Georges, Saint-Côme-Linière)

In the Jardin de Dominique (Beauceville, Saint-Frédéric)

Lace-up pass (Saint-Prosper)

Amhirondelle (Saint-Henri)

Watercolor / Jardin d’Oseille (Saint-Damien-de-Buckland, Beaumont)

Belle Enfance (Saint-Raphaël)

Chatons d’Or (Saint-Anselme)

The employees of CPE Panta-Mousse, Au Palais des Merveilles and Boutons d’Or will hold a common gathering on 1is November from 9 a.m. to 11 760, 3e Avenue, in Saint-Georges (Radio-Beauce parking lot).

A first day of rotating strike took place on October 12 and 13, after obtaining a provincial mandate by 95% of the members. A total of 110 facilities and 8,000 children will be affected by this disengagement movement.

These childcare workers have been without an employment contract for 18 months. Negotiations with the government are mainly stumbling over the issue of salary and the number of positions in support of educators.
