Crisis Resolved at Gabon’s National Health Insurance and Social Guarantee Fund

Libreville, Friday, June 22, 2023 (Gabon Info) – The Prime Minister, Alain Claude Bilie-By-Nze, has successfully resolved the crisis at the National Health Insurance and Social Guarantee Fund (CNAMGS) through mediation and urgent measures.

Following a period of tension between the general management and the staff, calm has now returned to CNAMGS. Prime Minister Bilie-By-Nze, accompanied by the Minister of Health and Social Affairs, Guy Patrick Obiang Ndong, and the Minister of Employment and Labor, Madeleine Berre, instructed the government to take immediate action to resolve the situation.

In a statement on his Facebook page, Prime Minister Bilie-By-Nze emphasized the importance of finding a solution in collaboration with the unions. He acknowledged the CNAMGS as a vital tool in the social policy of President Ali BONGO ONDIMBA and stressed the need for serenity in addressing the demands of the staff.

The CNAMGS staff union has called for several improvements, including the reclassification of 400 agents, training opportunities, car loans, medical care for agents and their dependents, and access to land ownership through plot allocations.
