strike air traffic controllers 16 airports Spain and cancellations

MADRID – As we wrote in our previous posts, the strike of 162 air traffic controllers at 16 Spanish airports will continue from Monday January 30 and the following five Mondays on February 6, 13, 20 and 27. These are strikes of 24 hours (from 00 to 24 hours) which can have consequences for air traffic because almost 25% of flights in Spain take place at these airports. At the bottom is the minimum service per airport which the Spanish government demands during this strike. There may be delays and/or cancellations, please contact your airline.

From January 30 and on February 6, 13, 20 and 27 (five Mondays in a row) is on strike 16 airports which are operated by Saerco and Ferronats, so not at all airports in Spain. It’s about airports Alicante-Elche (Costa Blanca), Valencia, Murcia, Seville, Ibiza, Lanzarote, Fuerteventura, El Hierro, La Palma, Jerez de la Frontera, A Coruña, Castellón, Lleida, Sabadell, Vigo and Madrid–Cuatro Vientos. At 30 other airports, such as Barcelona, Madrid, Málaga and Palma de Mallorca, which are managed by Enaire, there will be no strike.

The Spanish government on Sunday set the minimum service level for air traffic control at these 16 airports, as reported on the Twitter account of the Controladores Aereos in Spain.
