Offenbach district – because of illicit trade with Drugs, forged documents and stolen data are investigators on Thursday (October 29th, 2020) in several federal states against administrators of the messenger service „Telegram“ proceeded. In an action in six federal states, a total of nine chat groups were taken over and secured, announced the Federal Criminal Police Office and the Central Office for Combating Internet Crime (ZIT) of the Frankfurt Public Prosecutor’s Office on Friday (October 30, 2020). Two accused came from the Offenbach district.

Investigations into drug trafficking via “Telegram”: Two suspects in Offenbach district
More than four kilograms of narcotics, eight weapons, 8,000 euros, data carriers and smartphones were seized. 13 men between 18 and 54 years of age will be illicitly trafficked with Drugs accused in some not small quantities. A 25 year old from the Offenbach district was reportedly arrested, a 19-year-old, also from the Offenbach District, should be brought before the judge on Friday (10/30/2020). The investigations are directed against a total of 28 accused.
Two arrests in the Offenbach district: drug trafficking organized via “Telegram”
The investigating authorities stated „Telegram“ is used as an alternative to trading platforms in the Darknet when trading illegal goods and services. In partly publicly accessible channels and chat groups, the initiation of illegal business, the processing of the sale of Drugs and other illegal goods afterwards in separate chats between individual users.
Drug trafficking via messenger service “Telegram”: detention in the Offenbach district executed
As part of the measures, communication in a total of nine chat groups of the messenger was possible „Telegram“ with almost 8,000 members, including groups with the names “Silk Road”, “Marktplatz // Schwarzmarkt”, “GermanRefundCrew” or “Cracked Accounts Shop”. In the adopted „Telegram“-Channels and groups was published a blocked image by the investigative authorities and continued trading with Drugs put a bolt forward.
