“Arlene is strong and tough and her energy is limitless.
“No doubt she will make the group dance around the campfire in order to fight the cold and keep morale up.
“It should be fun,” a source said.
The oldest contender for the program to date is Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s father Stanley, who starred in the 17th Series in 2017, aged 77.
Series 18 winner Harry Redknapp won at the age of 71 and Caitlyn Jenner starred in the series at the age of 70.
Arlene, who has choreographed a number of West End and Broadway musicals, has had an extremely successful career.
After teaching dance at Pineapple Dance Studios and at the Italia Conti Stage School, his career took off.
The star took on the role of assistant choreographer in Annie (1982) and was directed by Lord of the Dance in 1996.
Arlene was a judge on Strictly from 2004 to 2008 and then shared her expertise on So You Think You Can Dance? and Sky One’s Got To Dance.
She has also worked on programs such as Britannia High, DanceX and Strictly Dance Fever.
The former dancer doesn’t have long before the ITV show starts.
Last month, it was revealed that the bosses had already started building the sprawling new sets of spooky Gwrych Castle.
Since the airing of I’m A Celebrity in 2002, the show has always revolved around Murwillumbah, New South Wales, Australia.
But the coronavirus pandemic put a wrench in the works last year, meaning the 20th season was filmed in the UK.
The historic Conwy site in Wales will be in use again this year.
While the lineup for I’m A Celeb 2021 has yet to be revealed, rumors that the stars are heading to the castle include Corrie’s Sam Aston, GMB’s Richard Arnold and BBC Breakfast presenter Louise Minchin.
