Stricter restrictions come into force in Estonia / Article / LSM.lv

In Estonia, stricter restrictions on the spread of Covid-19 came into force on Saturday, March 6, as the epidemiological situation in the country continues to deteriorate.

Shopping malls and shops in Estonia are now closed on weekends. The exception is convenience stores such as grocery stores, pharmacies, optical stores.

On weekdays, in shopping centers and catering establishments, the premises may be filled by no more than 25%. In addition, customers will only be allowed to stay in the catering establishments until six o’clock in the evening, after which they will be allowed to sell food only to take away or make deliveries to order.

The prevalence of Covid-19 in Estonia is still growing rapidly.

Last day, another 1,542 people were infected with the new coronavirus,

the proportion of positive tests – 20.5 percent. Seven people died.

In Estonia, at least 1,000 new cases are detected every day for a week and a half. Currently, the number of 14-day Covid-19 cases per 100,000 population is 1,250.
