Due to the increasing number of corona infections, more controls are being carried out in restaurants. In Neu-Isenburg, in addition to the regular controls in the last few weeks, on two days in October, increased random checks were carried out.
“Unfortunately, in too many cases we have found violations of the compliance with the regulations for catering establishments mentioned in the Corona Protection Ordinance of the State of Hesse. In particular, the fact that only guests with a negative proof are allowed to be present in indoor catering was too often disregarded by the restaurateurs and demonstrably not adequately checked by them. In the future, we will pay even more attention to the implementation of the applicable rules and carry out further controls, ”announced First City Councilor Stefan Schmitt.
The Hessian state government and the Hessian Association of Cities are also asking the municipalities to step up controls by the police in view of the rapidly increasing corona infections.
A total of 17 catering establishments were checked at the end of October, that is 20 percent of the catering facilities in Neu-Isenburg. Violations of the corona rules were found in 16 cases. 16 administrative offense proceedings were initiated, which were forwarded to the Offenbach district as the competent authority for further processing.
The restaurateurs are obliged to ensure that only people with a negative certificate according to § 3 Paragraph 1 Clause 1 No. 1, 2 or 4 are present in the indoor catering and that a distance and hygiene concept according to § 5 is available and implemented.
Infringements can result in fines of 500 and 1,000 euros.

Mayor Herbert Hunkel and First City Councilor appeal to the Neu-Isenburg restaurateurs: “You decide every day at your door how quickly we can get the pandemic under control. We therefore ask you to adhere to the given rules. We can only fight Corona together. It is also in your interest. “
The controls were carried out jointly with the police and the local regulatory authority. Checks were carried out in the area of Frankfurter Strasse. The controls also repeatedly found violations of the gaming regulations and the Hessian gaming law. In some cases, gaming machines were sealed. The police checked around 220 people on both evenings. Violations of the Narcotics Act, as well as violations of the right to determine residence, could be violated. An arrest warrant was also carried out.
On the part of the municipal regulatory authority, unannounced inspections of restaurants, gambling halls, betting offices and shisha bars take place again and again, partly with the support of the police. In doing so, violations of the laws and ordinances are regularly identified, which are punished.
