jpnn.com, JAKARTA – Pandemic time COVID-19 triggered an increase in heart attack cases.
This is because during the pandemic, many people are under severe stress due to the economic and health crisis.
While stress is one of the triggers for coronary heart disease.
According to Dr. Antono Sutandar Sp.JP-K, there are nine risk factors for heart attack, namely smoking, hypertension, cholesterol, obesity, diabetes, stress, alcohol, lack of exercise, lack of eating vegetables and fruits.
However, from these factors, there is a changing trend in which stress, smoking, and cholesterol are the highest causes of coronary heart attacks.
“Previously, most of them were due to smoking, alcohol, high blood pressure, now stress has become one of the highest causes of heart attacks besides smoking and cholesterol,” said Doctor Antono in an online health discussion organized by Siloam Heart Institute-Siloam Hospitals Kebon Jeruk to commemorate World Heart Day, 29 September 2020.
The 2018 WHO data states that the death rate in Indonesia, 33.5 percent, is caused by heart attacks and strokes.
This is a strong warning for the people of Indonesia to always maintain their heart health, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
