Leverkusen/Dormagen/Krefeld. Currenta, manager and operator of Chempark, strengthens its position reference at the turn of the year. Instead of a cross-site Chempark manager, there will in future be one site manager for each of the three sites in Leverkusen, Dormagen and Krefeld-Uerdingen
The former Chempark manager Lars Friedrich takes over responsibility for Krefeld-Uerdingen. With Hans Richter for Leverkusen and Christian Czauderna for Dormagen, there are also two new managers at Chempark.
“With this new approach, we are focusing even more on the problems at the respective locations. In the future, we will also intensify the exchange with local citizens and politicians through our local district offices, so that we can better do justice to the priorities and interests of the locations,” explains Currenta CEO Frank Hyldmar.
In addition to managing the Krefeld-Uerdingen location, Lars Friedrich, who was previously responsible for all locations, will take over the management of a new business unit. “In this new role, Lars Friedrich will of course continue to intensively promote the topics of site safety, industry acceptance, security and infrastructure. I would like to thank Lars Friedrich for his great commitment in all matters relating to Chempark’s tasks and topics. As director of Chempark, he has intensively promoted dialogue with the public, neighbors and municipalities in recent years. This work now needs to be continued and expanded,” continues Hyldmar.
Biography
Dr Hans Richter
Site Manager Leverkusen/Managing Director Chemion Logistik GmbH
Hans Richter was born on March 19, 1969 in Lingen. After completing his chemistry studies in Braunschweig, he began his professional career in 1999 as a department head at the German Federal Foundation for the Environment in Osnabrück.
At the end of 2001 he moved to the central research department of Bayer AG, where he worked as laboratory manager and later as head of the technical focus on chromatography. In the summer of 2007, he was given responsibility for the business management of Analytics.
In January 2012 he moved to the Corporate Development of Currenta as Program Manager Operational Excellence and took over the management on 1 July 2012. Since 1 January 2013 he has been managing the business area Analytics and since 1 September 2015 the business area Environment. As of April 1, 2017, Richter headed Corporate Strategy and Policy Advocacy.
Since 1 December 2019, he has been managing director of Currenta’s subsidiary, Chemion Logistik GmbH.
Dr Christian Czauderna
Dormagen Site Manager/Head of Business Unit Circularity
Christian Czauderna was born on February 5, 1970 in Bottrop. After studying electrical engineering at RWTH Aachen University, he started his career in 1996 as a research assistant at the Institute for Electrical Systems and Energy Management at RWTH Aachen University.
In 2001 he moved to Bayer AG in Leverkusen as a staff member in the Technology/Energy department. In 2005, he was appointed responsible for the electricity supply for the Dormagen chemical park at what was then Bayer Industry Services GmbH – today Currenta GmbH & Co OHG. In 2007, he assumed the leadership of the Asset Management and Network Management Electricity Procurement department of Currenta.
In 2008 he moved to Bayer Material Science AG (today Covestro), where he worked as OPEX Program Manager and Venture Manager TDI-Dormagen. In October 2012 he returned to Currenta as Head of Corporate Management of the Energy business area.
On September 1, 2015, he took over the direction of business development. Since 1 April 2017 he has been responsible for the Operations function of the construction site services area. On January 1, 2023, Czauderna assumed leadership of Currenta’s new Circularity business unit.
Czauderna is married and has three children.
Lars Friedrich
Site Manager Krefeld-Uerdingen/Head of Business Unit Site
Lars Friedrich was born on March 27, 1972 in Wuppertal. From 1988 he completed an apprenticeship as a chemical laboratory assistant at Bayer AG in Wuppertal. Between 1991 and 1996 he studied safety engineering at the University of Wuppertal. After returning to Bayer AG, he completed his training as a fire engineer in 1999 in cooperation with the professional fire brigade of Cologne.
This was followed by various positions at Bayer AG in the plant fire brigade in Leverkusen, Dormagen and Krefeld-Uerdingen, which in 2002 became the predecessor of Currenta – Bayer Industry Services.
In 2009, Friedrich took over the management of fire protection, security center and crisis management for all three Chempark locations in the Currenta Security division. From there he moved to the Environment business area in 2017, where he was responsible for cooling and water supply.
Since April 1, 2017, he has been responsible for Chempark and responsible for the Chempark and safety function in the area of construction site services. On 1 January 2023, Friedrich took over the management of the new Site business unit at Currenta.
Friedrich is married and the father of three children.
