Libreville, April 6, 2024 (AGP) – The Minister of Energy and Hydraulic Resources, Jeannot Kalima, visited, on Saturday April 6, the projects to strengthen the drinking water supply in Libreville and Akanda.
Accompanied by officials from the Gabon Energy and Water Company (SEEG) which is carrying out the said work, the minister visited the drilling construction sites of Carrefour Chantal, Cité Serpentin and Belle-vue 1. .
This work, which cost the company more than 1.5 billion FCFA for the 3 drillings, will relieve twenty thousand people, according to the minister.
For local residents, there is water, but there are only a few small adjustments to make so that the service is better.
As part of the PIEPAL project, the sites of the Louis district, the Pompidou city and the PK5 pumping station were connected, in order to improve drinking water services in these districts by missing for almost four years.
« The PIEPAL project, even if it is significantly delayed, will greatly relieve our populations in these three neighborhoods. The populations who took care to be identified already have the meters connected and are already benefiting from the water”indicated the minister before announcing the water disruption at the start of next week in the northern zone, due to work to connect the drinking water pumping station to PK5.
Which will make it possible to supply the 10 thousand cubic meter reservoir located at the Cité de la Caisse, according to the member of the government.
