Strengthen Surveillance to Anticipate Transmission of Monkeypox

JAKARTA, KOMPAS—The World Health Organization has determined the transmission of monkeypox or monkeypox as a public health emergency of global concern. Although there have been no confirmed cases in Indonesia, prevention and anticipation efforts must be strengthened, especially in surveillance efforts in the community.

YARSI University Postgraduate Director who is also Professor of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Indonesia Tjandra Yoga Aditama, in Jakarta, Monday (25/7/2022) said that education and good communication must be carried out massively in the community regarding monkeypox. The public needs to get a proper understanding of the disease, starting from the mode of transmission, signs and symptoms of the disease, as well as the management of monkeypox.
