Dancing around Lake Zurich
Zurich will once again become a techno city on Saturday at the Street Parade. From 1 p.m., hundreds of thousands of ravers from Switzerland and all over the world will bring the Zurich lake basin to life under the motto “Prefer: Tolerance”. 30 love mobiles with loud sounds and DJs will roll through the crowd at walking pace. National and international stars such as Andrea Oliva and Monolink will play on eight large stages. The weather will also be playing along – temperatures of around 30 degrees and lots of sunshine are expected. If you want to keep partying after midnight, visit one of the after parade parties. Zipline flight at the Seenachtfest
This year, the Seenachtfest Rapperswil-Jona from Friday to Sunday offers a highlight at dizzying heights. For the 100th anniversary, the organizers are installing the longest mobile zipline in Switzerland on the festival grounds. With the 307-meter-long zip line, you can fly from the castle hill over the roofs of the old town, the harbor and the Sedammwiese. Guests can also enjoy a Ferris wheel and other fairground attractions to mark the anniversary. Also on the program are air shows and performances by Bligg, Florian Ast and Linda Fäh, among others. Music and young talents in Winterthur
The 49th Winterthur Music Festival has been underway since Wednesday and will continue until August 18th. Around 100 acts will perform on seven stages. On Friday you can get carried away by the hyper-rhythmic songs of the punk group SGATV. On Saturday the best participants of the Band-it festival will play on the church square. You can get excited about young bands and musicians who will present themselves to a larger audience and a jury under professional conditions. At Chilbi Dürnten sit on manure
Anyone who wants to have a smaller fair will get their money’s worth at the Chilbi Dürnten. From Friday to Sunday, there are arcades, bumper cars and a chain flyer to have fun. On Saturday and Sunday, visitors can browse the colorful range of goods at the Chilbi market. The traditional bull-shit competition is unusual. Participants buy tickets for playing fields. If the bull shits on the playing field you bet on at 5 p.m. on Sunday, it’s yours.
Puzzles in the corn maze
In the newly opened corn maze in Kloten at the Strickhof Lindau, puzzle squirrel Maila takes little detectives on an adventure. Six puzzle stations are hidden between the corn stalks. At the end of the puzzle path, there is a prize. Visitors can fortify themselves at the picnic area. Toilets are also available. Open air with eco-style
Visitors can enjoy garage rock at the Looren Open Air in Wermetshausen near Hinwil. From Friday to Sunday, 13 bands such as Velvet two Stripes and Fiji will rock the stage. The festival is the successor to the Schlauer Bauer open-air festival in Wetzikon and is taking place for the second time. The site is located on the meadow of the Looren farm, right next to a chicken coop and a wildlife corridor. A shuttle will run between Hinwil train station and the festival site until Saturday. And of course, the ecologically committed festival offers guests organic food.
