Street Fighter producer Yoshinori Ono leaves Capcom

However, all this is nothing compared to the news that just fell today: Yoshinori Ono quitte Capcom.

The Japanese joined the studio in 1998, first working on the sound part of several songs by Capcom, then he became assistant producer on Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny. He subsequently produced Chaos Legion, took a detour on Resident Evil: Outbreak (on the modeling side), but today, Yoshinori Ono is best known for being the executive producer of Street Fighter, a position he also held on Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite and Darkstalkers Resurrection. He had been the face of the franchise for over 10 years, and he was also regularly asked about Deep Down, Action-RPG announced in 2013 and which is still pending.

But there you go, as Yoshinori Ono explains in a statement posted on social networks, he decided to leave Capcom in this summer 2020, which does not smell good for Deep Down. About the license Street Fighter, it will obviously continue thanks to the other members of Capcom, Ono wishes them well for the future, and he will obviously be following the development of the franchise with interest in the years to come.
