Dietzenbach / Wiesbaden – As the Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA) reported in Wiesbaden, the number of cases and victims rose last year across Germany. It deals with the issue of “resistance to and assault on law enforcement officers and the like”. The BKA recently mentioned some sensational cases in a situation report.

Street battle in Dietzenbach: more attacks on police officers in 15 federal states
Compared to the previous year (2018), more cases of attacks were registered in 15 federal states in 2019. North Rhine-Westphalia, the most populous federal state, had the highest absolute (+816 cases) increase, Hesse reported the highest percentage (+132.3 percent) increase. The number of cases only fell in Rhineland-Palatinate.
According to the BKA, the number of attacks on police officers in the Offenbach district was 22 last year. There were 704 cases in all of Hesse (in 2018: 303 cases). The clearance rate in Hessen was 99 percent. So the perpetrators very rarely get away.
Dietzenbach: No particular increase in violence against police officers in the Offenbach district
The Offenbach district was not particularly noticeable in terms of the frequency of physical attacks against police officers last year. In the city of Offenbach and Frankfurt, for example, the frequency figures were much higher.
