Street Art in Graz: From the substation to the city beach: The Urban Art Festival is moving to the city this year

Anyone passing by the STUWO student residence on the Eggenberg Belt hardly misses it: there are colorful works of art on the walls on seven floors. They are “discoveries” of the Styria Urban Art Festival, which has been taking place here for several years. This year too, the time has come from Thursday – and this year again, street art and other art will be created at STUWO at a high level, turning the building into a livable work of art.

In addition to the student accommodation, where the opening and meet and greet will take place this Friday from 6pm, there will also be new spaces this year. Dutch artist Da Daan Botlek created a mural at the Keplerbrücke substation last year, where you can see him at work again from Monday to Thursday (10am to 4pm), as do David Leitner (Austria) and KJ263 (Germany). Also working at STUWO is Katell Gelebart (the French artist works with packaging and other disposable materials and wants to show that things that seem no longer needed are valuable raw materials), as well as Jacoba Niepoort from Denmark.

The Citypeak Dave & the Coverdudes are playing Saturday afternoon, on The balcony of the town From Monday to Thursday, a musical program from Balkan sounds to Ukrainian and Armenian avant-garde music will be offered by Erasmus+ partners.

For the final there will be a party on the city beach on Sunday from 6pm: Katell Gelebart, Daan Botlek, David Leitner, KJ263, Jacoba Niepoort and Marvin Busta will be represented as artists, the music will be provided by students teacher, Dave & the Coverdudes and Sladoled Love Comet. The program with all the details is ready here.
