The Belgian streaming service Streamz will receive a cheaper subscription with advertisements. Streamz Basic costs 7.95 euros per month, four euros less than the current amount. Viewers can watch the same offer.
The new subscriptions are available from May 22, writes the platform, which is part of DPG Media, VRT and Telenet. With the subscription, viewers pay less per month, but they do see advertisements. Up to five minutes of advertising is shown every hour, says Streamz. No advertising is shown in children’s programmes.
The subscription is called Streamz Basic. This also includes other limitations. For example, viewers can only create a maximum of two viewing profiles, compared to five in the Premium subscription. Viewers can also only watch a maximum of one screen at a time, instead of four. It is also not possible to download series and films and watch them offline.
Streamz hopes to reach young people with the subscription, who, according to the platform, have less money to spend. The subscription costs 7.95 euros per month, but with an annual subscription that drops to 5.95 euros per month. This makes the subscription about thirty percent cheaper than Streamz Premium. At Telenet, where Streamz can be purchased, the service will be available from 5 June.
