With 802 million hits, Germans streamed more music on Christmas Eve than ever before in 24 hours. This was announced by GfK Entertainment as investigator of the official German charts.
“Last Christmas” by Wham! went to more than 5.5 million streams, Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You” to 5.4 million. The previous daily record of 764 million streams came from Christmas Eve 2021 and has now been significantly surpassed.
Meanwhile, “Last Christmas” in the German single charts further expanded his record as a hit that has been in the charts for the longest time – to 160 weeks, he said. The song first entered the charts in December 1984. “All I Want For Christmas Is You” clocks in at 89 weeks.
