Streaming Android apps on Windows is available to all users

Microsoft announced a few days ago that Windows 10 users would soon benefit from their smartphone’s Android applications from their PCs through its Your Phone application.

While the feature was previously restricted to members of its Insider program, it is now available to all users with a compatible Samsung smartphone.

Microsoft has just deployed an update to its Your Phone application allowing users to stream applications from their Android smartphone to Windows 10. The list of compatible Samsung devices remains limited to recent models:

  • Samsung Galaxy Note 9, Galaxy Note10, Galaxy Note10+, Galaxy Note10 Lite
  • Samsung Galaxy S9, Galaxy S9+
  • Samsung Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+, Galaxy S10 Lite Samsung, Galaxy S10e
  • Samsung Galaxy A8s
  • Samsung Galaxy A30s, A31, A40, A41, A50, A50s, A51, A60, A70, A70s, A71, A71 5G, A80, A90s, A90s 5G
  • Samsung Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, Galaxy S20 Ultra
  • Samsung Galaxy Fold, Galaxy XCover Pro, Galaxy Z Flip

If you are lucky enough to own one of the above devices, you should be able to use the Android applications on your smartphone on Windows 10. To use it, you will need to install the latest version of Your Phone on your PC, as well as the Assistant Your Phone application on your Android smartphone.

Android apps open on your Windows 10 PC are opened in a separate window, just like when you open an app installed on Windows. You can also pin your favorite Android applications directly to the Windows 10 taskbar to open them more quickly without going through the Your Phone interface.
