Streacom is releasing an improved version of its compact DA2 housing. The second version has improved ventilation, through adjustments to the ventilation grilles. According to the manufacturer, the new case is optimized for RTX 3000 cards.
Of Streacom DA2 Version 2 is the successor to the DA2 that has been on the market for more than two years. The manufacturer says it has made improvements to the new model as a result of criticism of the first box. The second version has ventilation holes with a different pattern on the back and side panels. The size of the holes has been adjusted and there are now twice as many, which means the airflow should benefit.
Streacom also provides the DA2 Version 2 with the Performance Acrylic Panel Kit. This kit was developed for use with glass side panels on the first version of the housing, but is now included as standard.
The back panel has a larger opening for a PCIe card and the passtroughpower supply cable now has an angled plug, which means less space is wasted inside.
According to Streacom, the design of the DA2 is suitable for the Founders Editions of the RTX 3000 cards, which have a fan on two sides of the video card. The cabinet can draw in air from the bottom and it is possible to place the SFX power supply at an angle of 90 degrees, which improves the airflow. The 3.9kg housing is made of aluminum, has dimensions of 340x286x180mm and can accommodate video cards up to 330mm long. CPU coolers can be 145mm high.
Streacom will release the DA2 VErsion 2 in mid-October, although it may take until the end of November for the case to be available at all stores, the manufacturer said. The current DA2 housing is in the Pricewatch with various providers for prices around 200 euros.
