In the rapidly changing Cameroonian banking sector, characterized by accelerated digitization and increased competition, it is more necessary than ever to constantly innovate, to succeed in the game, this means designing more better, a group that is prepared for any event and offensive management. These prerequisites are also extremely important in the development of the various infrastructures in which the banks reside. In fact, taking them into account allows an understanding of the technical aspects related to the construction and design of these vital elements that often need to be adapted to the specific needs of workplaces, safety and compliance.
It is therefore important, before starting any project to build a bank branch, to assess its cost and profitability, to develop the best solutions to meet the specific needs of banks, to identify and manage risks that may be related to the construction and the layout to guarantee the safety of customers and workers. A well-thought-out layout, with specific areas for the different services, facilitates the customer journey and reduces waiting time. Effective space management optimizes the number of counters required and increases employee productivity. In addition, a strong and secure infrastructure helps protect sensitive data and bank assets, which are vital for customer trust and the smooth running of the institution.
In addition, investment is needed in improving existing infrastructure. Upgrade buildings, security systems, technologies and improve office ergonomics. Next, it is essential to develop a culture of project management and train employees on project management techniques in the field of civil engineering. Finally, establish strategic partnerships with construction and architecture firms that specialize in banking.
These recommendations come from solid experience gained by several companies. Especially within the Sorepco SA Group, where I took care of the proactive management of construction projects, ensuring coordination between teams and ensuring that set goals were met. I then joined, as a general manager, the company Project Designer Africa Sarl, specializing in the design and implementation of projects. The Deluxcom group then welcomed me, offering me the position of project coordinator. I then joined Union Bank of Cameroon PLC, as a project manager officer, responsible for branch development and construction. Under this role, I managed major projects such as the construction and renovation of Biyem-Assi, Bafoussam, Ndogpassi and Bonaberi groups.
