Strategic Planning Survey
Great citizen participation!
The City of Shawinigan thanks the 1,137 citizens who completed the “Strategic Planning – Shawinigan 2030” survey between March 22 and April 5. This consultation will help in the reflection for the development of the City’s strategic plan, a document which will guide decision-making for the years to come.
Along with the survey, the City also held discussion workshops. Around ten citizens and representatives of organizations participated in these exchanges of ideas and prioritization of actions for each of the workshops.

Why strategic planning?
For the coming years, the City wishes to maintain its development and is banking in particular on the solidarity and mobilization of its growing population. Thus, in order to promote the achievement of its commitments and ensure that the well-being of citizens and their quality of life is maintained, the City wants to adopt a strategic plan. This will allow the City to position itself in its community, in the regional ecosystem and to anchor environmental and social values in its vision in order to continue its development and attractiveness.
The final version of the City’s 2024-2030 strategic plan should be adopted by the fall.
