The representative of the Hamas movement in Lebanon, Ahmed Abdel Hadi, said: “The Israelis are still in shock from the operation. This event has strategic dimensions, and we may witness the liberation of many of our regions.”
He added in an interview with Al-Jadeed, “We have special information that the Israelis will create incidents to control Al-Aqsa Mosque, and the goal was to defend the mosque in the face of this latest development.”
Abdul Hadi continued, “What happened today has strategic dimensions, and one of its goals is to recover prisoners from Israeli prisons. We, as the leadership of Hamas, promised the prisoners to liberate them, and the other goal is to confront the actions of the extremist Zionist government.”
He added, “The Palestinian factions inside Palestine are carrying out their duty without the need for the factions in Lebanon. We will not be the cause of the destruction of Lebanon, and we respect the laws of the country.”
He stated, “The Al-Qassam Brigades factions indicated that they are prepared to continue firing missiles at Tel Aviv for a period of six months.”
