NASCAR Revs Up Innovation with Stratasys as Exclusive 3D Printing Partner
Daytona Beach, FL (December 4, 2024) – Get ready for a new era of speed and innovation in motorsports. NASCAR, the premier stock car racing organization, has announced an expanded, multi-year partnership with 3D printing pioneer Stratasys. This landmark agreement makes Stratasys the exclusive provider of 3D printing technology for NASCAR across all three national racing series.
The partnership goes beyond just sponsorship; it’s a strategic collaboration to propel NASCAR’s performance and streamline its design and manufacturing processes. A state-of-the-art 3D printing lab is set to open at the NASCAR Research & Development Center in Concord, North Carolina. This facility will house a range of Stratasys technologies, including F370, 450mc, F900 (FDM printers) and a NEO800 (SL printer). NASCAR engineers will leverage this innovative arsenal to produce parts, aerodynamic testing components, tooling, and more.
"This partnership uniquely empowers NASCAR to optimize and push the boundaries of parts creation and testing, further refining performance," said John Probst, Chief Racing Development Officer for NASCAR. "Stratasys’ cutting-edge 3D printing technology gives our team the flexibility and speed needed to stay ahead of the curve in this incredibly competitive landscape."
This is not a new frontier for NASCAR. The agility of 3D printing is already being utilized, notably with Stratasys Direct Manufacturing producing cold air inlet vents using plant-based Nylon11 materials, ensuring driver comfort with cool air flow. Likewise, FDM printers are working hand-in-glove with ULTEM® 9085 black material for advanced NACA ducts, keeping engine bays cooler.
The partnership will allow NASCAR to further explore the potential of on-demand manufacturing powered by Stratasys. "It allows us to move rapidly from design conception to track testing," said Rich Garrity, Chief Business Unit Officer at Stratasys. "Our work with NASCAR demonstrates the immense impact of 3D printing not just on cars, but also for high-performance applications across industries."

"Partnering with Stratasys allows NASCAR to push the boundaries of performance and accuracy like never before," said John Probst. "Their 3D printing technology empowers us to quickly iterate and optimize components, ensuring that our staff have the best possible machines to stay ahead in this high-stakes environment. Stratasys has proven to be a valuable partner, and this agreement represents our commitment to staying at the forefront of motorsports innovation."
