Strasbourg hospitals taken by the throat by the State

The Regional Health Agency (ARS) has just concluded with the management of the University Hospitals of Strasbourg (HUS) a “contract for the future”, revealed by Rue89: against the purification of its “debt” – created from scratch by a national hospital budget well below needs – Strasbourg hospitals are committed to a real bloodletting. The funds will be conditioned, each year, on the achievement of objectives: accelerate the discharge of patients, continue the outsourcing of cleaning (which has already generated the end of 197 contracts!), merge units and therefore eliminate dozens beds in some departments, increase capacity in others but with existing staff – already glaringly understaffed! An indicator will be monitored by the ARS to be satisfied: the number of positions eliminated, at least 90 according to forecasts. A real “social plan”, as in many other hospitals, against the backdrop of the destruction of the healthcare system.
