Wednesday, May 18, 7 a.m., Morad was on his rounds distributing advertisements. Arriving at 3 avenue François-Mitterrand in Strasbourg in the Poteries district, the forty-year-old enters the building hall to access the mailboxes. But as he bends down to his trolley to retrieve flyers, he is violently attacked and left unconscious on the ground.
Multiple facial fractures
Result: the split skull, fractures of the jaw, nose and orbits, tears in the ears…, which after an operation of nearly seven hours at the Hautepierre University Hospital, earned him a temporary incapacity for work of three months.
“He doesn’t have many memories anymore,” says his big sister Ikram. When he regained consciousness, he repeated to us: “I was swept away, I was crushed”. He was from behind and thinks that there were several attackers, without being able to say how many, ”relays his eldest.

The family is looking for the local resident who called the emergency services
“My brother is really a teddy bear. He is super nice. He combines several jobs for his wife and children. He didn’t ask for anything that day. He was just going to work early in the morning, ”observes Ikram, still incredulous at this lynching in order. Because if Morad had his life saved, it was thanks to a local resident: “A person found him lifeless in the building and immediately alerted the emergency services. The whole family would like to find her to thank her. If she ever sees our call she should contact us through the police”.
The police, alerted more than 24 hours after the events, are still conducting their investigation.
Morad will find his family this Saturday, his 41st birthday. He now lives in terror “at the idea of going out”. A personal and family trauma that makes Ikram say, in a cry from the heart: “Stop the violence! »
