From a tear drop at zero degrees then on a big 3-point basket in response to Basile Briere who had brought his team to -2 (72-70), Lucas Beaufort secured the victory of SIG Strasbourg in the first quarter-finals of the Trophée du Futur 2021. The Alsatian leader masterfully led his team, finishing 18 points at 4/7 at 3 points and 8 rebounds, and therefore the decisive baskets.
Before that, the strong-winger Clément Frisch (17 points at 6/19, 8 rebounds and 4 assists), had launched his team well. Above all, the zone defense of Alex Hartz allowed the Alsatians to make the gap shortly before half-time (40-32). And if Orléans came back with better intentions, the clumsiness of its leader Neftali Difuidi (0/13 at 3-points!) Weighed heavily. At the end of the match, the latter’s defense and his activity (12 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists) made up for it. In the money-time, the team of Jean-Fabrice Dossou (20 points at 9/11 and 7 rebounds) glued to a possession. But Lucas Beaufort did what it took to send his team to the semi-finals. At this stage, they will face the winner of the next quarter-finals between ASVEL and Elan Béarnais.
